The integration of design and quality manufacturing processes means the Elko products are well suited for heavy use and high traffic areas in many commercial applications. Our WA factory is equipped with wood working machinery and craftsman to produce high quality furniture. From the inception of the sofa manufacturing process of cutting and shaping the sofa frames to upholstering and quality control we manufacture all of the sofa components in-house. As a proud local WA manufacturer, we can offer a direct service and quick turn-around for your furniture requirements.
The timber used in our products is Neville Smith Timber Industries, Victorian Ash timber from plantation grown forests of Victoria. The timber conforms with the Australian Forestry Standard AFS/01-31-13 and PEFC Standard PEFC/21-31-13.(International) The PEFC is the worlds largest Forest Certification organisation covering 234 million hectares. Our supplier of timber sources sawn logs from renewable and sustainable managed resource, maximising the value extracted from each log and minimising the waste from each sawing.
At Elko Interiors we also endeavour to maximise the value and minimise the wastage of every component we cut
for our chairs and timber products.
Lounge, sofas and chair internals are made of solid plantation pine grown in Western Australia, and MDF from Laminex Industries. Foams used are Dunlop Fire Retardant Enduro foam with density to suit each application,
being seating or backing.
The sawdust produced by our manufacturing plant is compressed into briquettes and transported to a 160 acre rural property and ploughed into the paddock soil. |
